These are some thoughts from the pupils in A4.
1) We have made sure Muriel Sburiel does not get sick with too much rubbish.
2) Made the school recycle more.
3) Reduced waste.
4) Weighed the rubbish.
5) Sent out a memo.
6) Made recycling posters.
7) IT HAS MADE US MORE AWARE.

We are very pleased with our progress at the moment. In A4 after weighing the rubbish during the second week we decided action was needed so we wrote a memo to every class, office, residential unit, etc.
This seems to have had a positve impact and we hope to continue our improvement.

As all you Happy Bin schools know Penmaes school is a bit special.
As well as having pupils during the daytime Penmaes has children and staff who live in residential units. In addition, because some of their pupils need additional help Penmaes has a much larger number of staff than most primary schools. About 60 adults work with 96 children.
The extra meals, staff and time spent in school will all lead to extra waste being produced by the school
To make their Happy Bin figures more fair when compared to Primary Schools we have increased their pupil numbers by 50.
Do the other Happy Bin schools think this is fair?
